Types of Music
Music can be divided into many types, such as country music, rock, jazz, classical music and so on. Which type do you love most?
Whether you love pop music or not, maybe you have heard of the famous rock band, The Beatles. This band was composed of four boys from Liverpool who brought an entirely new style to pop music. This style originated in the UK, and you may know it. A quite different style, which you may not know, began in the USA many years before and was called country music.
Country music was born in the 1920s and influenced by folk songs. The golden period of country music is 1960s, when there were different types of country music, such as country blues, pop country music and rock country music. The three new types were formed by combining country music with another type. There were famous musicians, like John Denver, Kenny Rogers and Vince Gill. They pushed forward the country music to the brilliance.
Rock is the combination of American country music and Negro folks, which is full of inner rebelling spirit. The style of rock is plentiful, including heavy metal, punk, rhythm-and-blues.
Another type of music is jazz. Jazz came from blues and was born in New Orleans, and spread in the cultural circumstances of opening and freedom. Much jazz music is composed instantly.
There are many other styles of music in our life. We are enjoying them.
